Girls on Fire Australia: Igniting Potential, Empowering Futures

Presented by Girls on Fire and local fire, flood, and emergency services: participants who attend the Workforce Australia Local Jobs Pathways Program (JPP) will explore careers in fire and emergency.

Get ready for one day of hands-on learning, teamwork, and career exploration. This free program invites WOMEN to step into the world of emergency response while building skills to thrive in any workplace and networking with local agencies. 

You’ll take part in physical activities, practical simulations, and team challenges—all led by experienced emergency services personnel and local mentors. The program is designed to build confidence, resilience, leadership, and a sense of belonging in a safe and inclusive environment.

Date: 9th October 2025 (Women's day)     

Location: NSW SES Wagga Wagga Unit, 208A Fernleigh Rd, Ashmont. 

Who is it for: This day is reserved just for women. 

Program Highlights: 

• Fire science, extinguishers, hose, hydrant drills, and radio communication mitigation crew roles          
• Functional fitness, teamwork, and personal protective equipment training                                            
• Next steps workshop: how to apply, where to connect, and how to make career pathways
• Networking with local fire, flood, and emergency professionals
• Lunch and refreshments are provided. Please include any dietary needs in your registration.
